Philomena Testimonial

My name is Philomena James Ayiwulu, and I am a sickle cell warrior. I was diagnosed at just 7 months old, and over the years, I have faced battles that tested my strength in ways I never imagined.

In 2019, I started experiencing severe pain in my left hip. After medical checks, I was told that my hip bone was damaged and that I would need a replacement. Despite taking medications, the pain didn’t go away.

Then in 2021, I developed a leg ulcer—one of the most painful experiences of my life. It lasted for over a year and drained me physically, emotionally, and financially. There were days I couldn’t walk, days I cried endlessly because of the pain. After two months, I had to start using a walking stick.

Just when it finally healed, it reopened again. I tried everything I was told to do, but it wasn’t improving. It felt like starting all over again.

Through all of this, I kept holding on, praying, and believing that things would get better.

Today, I’m beyond grateful because in the middle of my struggles, God showed up for me. I now have my own shop—something I have always dreamed of.

A very special thank you to Vera (aka the placard girl). Thank you for coming all the way from Lagos to Abuja just to support me. Your kindness, love, and sacrifice mean everything to me. You have truly been a blessing in my life.

I may not be able to repay you, but I pray that God rewards you abundantly and blesses you beyond measure. You are truly an angel God sent to me.

Thank you to everyone individually or group who have given or supported in one way or the other through heal the next generation to make this happen for me, may God bless you abundantly and cause his face to shine upon you.

Thank you, Lord, for giving me strength to keep going. ❤️
