“Nigeria has the highest sickle cell burden in the world, yet most people still don't understand what it actually means to live with the condition. The pain crises, the organ damage, the shortened life expectancy - these realities are invisible to the majority of the population. In rural communities especially, families have no idea they carry the trait until a child is born with it and starts suffering. Save The Next Generation (STNG) exists primarily to change that. Our core mission is awareness - getting into communities, particularly in underserved and rural areas, educating people about genotype compatibility, and ultimately reducing the birth rate of sickle cell disease. When people know their genotype before starting a family, they can make informed decisions. Beyond awareness, we also provide free genotype screenings, warrior care kits, medical support, and connect those already living with sickle cell to the help they need.”
